After releasing the single "The Ether" with a video clip in April 2021, here is "Colourblind", the second track from the collaboration between guitarist Jean-Pascal Boffo and singer-songwriter Florent Simon. In the continuity of the first song, Colour-blind unfolds the thread of a melancholic and intimate pop, where the guitar with dreamy harmonies accompanies a simple and soft song, lulled by soothing choruses and supported by a discreet keyboard. And if the melody of the verse has the lightness of a ritornello, don't be mistaken: it is indeed about ghosts and broken hearts.
lyrics
Oh me, Oh my, am I colour-blind ?
A little trick of the light and I am by your side
staring into silence
Only awry am I doing fine
reaching for the day with wide open arms
feeling for the surface
Stay, don't ever go away
Oh me, oh my, you cry
but no one ever hears you cry
High tide, waters rising
in the embracing night
But I only see shadows
I guess I'm colour-blind
Comes eventide, you are all around
I'm carving in your skin, chiselling your heart
aiming for the answers
In neon nights, pulsing like a star
the rhythm of oblivion is in my blinking eye
ever going faster
Stay, don't ever go away
Oh me, oh my, you die
but no one ever sees you die
High tide, waters rising
in the embracing night
It's high time, but I only see shadows
I guess I'm colour-blind
